It is not only amazing for strengthening muscles but is also a great cardio exercise that will boost your metabolism and aid in weight loss like almost no other exercise. Winnipeg Women’s Kickboxing instructor, Trisha Sammons, is a Canadian and Western Canadian Title Belt Winner who offers beginner as well as advanced classes to women interested in getting in shape and learning how to physically defend themselves.


Kickboxing was originally a Thai martial art that is commonly known as Muai Thai. It has been practiced in Thailand for many generations and its teachers are known as the masters of the art. Kickboxing is mainly focused on striking with the legs; kneeing, kicking, jumping and so on. This means that your legs are involved in all sorts of movements that they aren’t usually used to. The main benefits of kickboxing include cardio fitness, increased strength, increased confidence, toned arms and legs, weight loss and better balance.


So, if you have been thinking about joining a kickboxing class but aren’t sure if it’s right for you, go. It’s a great way to become stronger both physically and mentally.
